About Sparkling Sake

Sparkling sake has been gaining popularity for its unique effervescence and lighter taste over the past five years.

This innovative beverage is produced through a secondary fermentation process similar to that used in champagne production. The process involves either natural fermentation in the bottle or carbonation added after brewing. The result is a bubbly, often sweeter version of sake with a lower alcohol content, typically around 5-10% ABV.

Unlike classic sake, which is revered for its smooth, umami-rich profile, sparkling sake introduces a playful, refreshing character. Its effervescence enhances the aromatics, offering floral, fruity, and sometimes creamy notes. Sparkling sake is versatile in its pairings, complementing a wide range of cuisines and particularly suited to lighter dishes.

It's a considerably new type, and there is room to expand the market now.
